The Sri Lanka Commonwealth Walkway was drafted by the Trust in December 2016 following a meeting with the High Commissioner in London, Her Excellency Amari Wijewardene. The Colombo route is 13km connecting 20 points of significance. The Trust was delighted that HRH The Earl of Wessex was able to present the first marker for the Walkway to The President when he visited in January 2018 to celebrate 70 years of independence. The Trust hopes to visit Sri Lanka soon to progress the Walkway.
The Trust wishes to thank Sam Golding, Keith Addis and their family for generously sponsoring the gift of the first marker so that His Royal Highness could present it to the Prime Minister on behalf of the Trust.
